Renee slowly opened up her drowsy eyelids and scanned the room.

She coughed to cover up her embarrassment after realizing that they were all waiting for her, she got out of Caesar's bed and slowly walked to one of the chairs.

Once they were all sitting down, Caesar walked towards the bookshelf on the far right of his room, and he rummaged through a few books before finally, he grabbed a large, slightly faded scroll.

He walked back to the table and straightened out the scroll on the table, "this is a map that briefly covers part of the dark continent, and the continent we are currently residing in" Caesar explained calmly after seeing their confused expressions.

Caesar pointed to the northernmost point of the map, "this is where we are currently located," he said.

The others at the table all nodded in understanding and waited for Caesar to continue, "Since all three of you have traveled from faraway places to here, I assume you know a good path towards the dark continent." Caesar asked while looking at Renee, Joe, and Edward with curiosity.

"Heh, I may have traveled pretty far, but, I never went to no dark continent" Joe opened up first.

Both Renee and Edward held contemplating expressions "when we came here, we just kept on walking north until we saw the signpost stating it was Rahvin kingdom," Edward said after thinking for a few seconds.

The corner of Caesar's lip twitched, Caesar, moved his slender finger across the map and pointed to the dark continent "do you at least know where your clan is located?" Caesar asked with exasperation.

"Hmm, it is somewhere around here," Renee said as she drew a big circle at the southern part of the dark continent.

Caesar stroked his chin, "would it be easier to go diagonally from our location down to the southern parts of the dark continent?" he looked at Edward and Renee curiously.

"Yes, we should avoid the northern parts of the dark continent at all costs… Many A+ clans reside there."

Caesar nodded his head slowly, and he once again streaked across the map with his finger, "we should try to avoid any big kingdoms if possible, or any places that are undergoing war."

"Man, are we really going to the dark continent?" Joe voiced his reluctance.

"Yes, we have many important things to do there… Besides, what makes you so scared?"

Joe abruptly stood up. "There used to be many dwarven kingdoms in the dark continent, you know?" he said with a longing look on his face.

"Back in the day, us dwarves didn't have to live in that molten continent. We had kingdoms made of gold."

Caesar sat down at the foot of the bed and tilted his head curiously, both Renee and Edward did the same… "What happened?"

"Well, this history isn't hidden or anything; it's just that not many people believe it… But I sure as hell do."

Joe paused for a second and looked at everyone's eager expression.

"Before the vampires fell and the entire dark continent was relatively peaceful, Feltharion, a dark dragon, had awoken from his slumber… no one knew why but he who used to be considered a holy dragon started destroying everything in his sights in a fit of rage, he destroyed the dwarven kingdoms and many of the elves. Still, when he headed towards the middle of the continent, he suddenly disappeared one day. The SS+ threat dragon vanished. No one to this day knows what happened but, in the middle of the dark continent, resides a deep crater… It is said that if you drink the blood of Feltharion, you gain extraordinary strength, people to this day are still looking for his body."

Caesar's lips twitched, "you seem not to know much about this legend yourself."

"Hmph, of course, I don't know all of the details. It was a simple story my mother read to me at night a long time ago."

"There are no records of dwarven kingdoms in the dark continent besides that legend?" Renee and Edward asked at the same time.

Joe coughed to hide his embarrassment, "I think it is real, though."

Everyone present in the room rolled their eyes and continued mapping out a path, "do you guys have anything you need to carry specifically?" Caesar asked curiously

"Just clothes and… other things," Renee hesitated for a second and said.

"Just my weapons and clothes," Edward said straightforwardly.

"Just me, haha!" Joe laughed, self-deprecatingly,

"Well, Renee, give me all of the small things you want to bring, and I will carry them," Caesar said after thinking about his storage ring.

"O-okay…" Renee blushed and averted her eyes.

Caesar didn't pay her much heed and continued, "get everything you need ready. We are leaving in three days… I will take care of food and transportation." Caesar clapped his hands and gained everyone's attention.

"Okay," they all three answered at the same time.

Soon both Edward and Joe left the room, leaving Renee and Caesar alone. Caesar massaged his temples while contemplating, "I can't believe they don't even know where their own clan is located…" Caesar thought to himself in awe.

"I am going to get my things prepared. I will come back later, t-tonight," Renee said, slightly embarrassed and headed for the door.

Caesar opened his eyes in surprise "are you sure you want to do it again?" Caesar asked teasingly.

"N-no, that's not it, you idiot! It's normal for a couple to sleep in the same room, isn't it?" Renee vocalized quietly while looking at the ground.

"Of course," Caesar said soothingly, and a beautiful smile blossomed on Renee's face.

Once everyone was out of the room, Caesar walked towards his bookshelf and pulled out a dark brown book with golden engravings. It was the art of swords that his father had given him as a present.

Caesar sat down at the table and flipped through the pages. Once the sun went down, and the light in the room escaped, Caesar closed his book and looked outside of the window.

"It's a full moon tonight," he said quietly.

Suddenly a stinging pain attacked his forehead, Caesar fell to the ground and growled in pain… "what the hell is this?" he frantically thought to himself.

  CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Caesar placed his forehead in the palm of his hands and ground his teeth. He slowly stood up and walked towards the door.

"Is everything okay?" Renee's worried voice came from behind the door.

Caesar opened the door and smiled lightly, "of course, let's get some rest," he said gently.

Renee studied Caesar with doubt flashing in her eyes, after staring for a few more seconds, she walked past him and headed towards the bed.

Caesar closed the door and also walked towards the bed. Renee slowly crawled on one side of the bed and put a large pillow down the middle, "No, trespassing, you hear me?" Renee said with a smile.

"Yea, yea, whatever you say," Caesar said sarcastically and climbed on to the other side of the bed.

Once they got into bed, Caesar turned around and faced the other way, if one looked closely, you could see sweat trail down his face.

"Are you okay?" Renee's worried voice passed into Caesar's ear once again.

"I'm fine. Why do you ask?"

"Hmph, don't underestimate a women's intuition; if you don't want to tell me about it, that's fine," Renee harrumphed and turned away from Caesar.

Caesar shook his head with a wry smiled and massaged the temples of his forehead. He started to hear barely discernable whispers inside of his head.

"All races have weaknesses, even the strongest ones," a dull voice echoed inside of his head…

"You can hide it, run from it, try to destroy it… but it will always exist" this time, a woman's voice called out.

Caesar could feel the blood in his body boil, and feelings of resentment and loss filled his heart.

Suddenly, Caesar felt a warm touch on his forehead, as if the dark feelings were abruptly washed away, his headache and his blood started to feel normal again.

"Hmm, are you really okay?" he heard a sweet voice next to his ear.

  Caesar opened his eyes
and wrapped his arms around Renee; he put his chin on her forehead and locked her in his embrace.

"W-what are you doing? I said no trespassing…" Renee said quickly.

"Sleep," Caesar replied with a whisper.

Renee continued resisting for a few seconds before, finally, giving in, and just closing her eyes, Caesar could feel her quickened heart by his chest.

Ten minutes later, two pairs of calm and rhythmic breathing could be the only things heard within the room.

The next morning, Caesar felt something soft on his body, causing him to open his eyes. His sight landed on Renee that was nestled on his chest. She had a broad smile on her face as she drooled all over him.

The corner of Caesar's lips twitched, and he closed his eyes once again, he rubbed her hair gently and went back to bed.

"Young master, breakfast is ready and… The merchant's guild has asked to meet you once again." Sebastian called out from behind the door.

"Mm" Renee slowly got up and stretched her limbs, she blinked her beautiful eyelashes and was greeted by Caesar's smiling face.

"Haha, if you hadn't told me you were a fox-kin, I would have thought you were a cat," Caesar teased after seeing Renee's sleepy figure.

"It's not as though I wanted to sleep on your chest. It's your fault for trespassing the line last night in the first place," Renee grumbled and started to get off the bed.

Caesar wrapped his arms around her and pulled her back to his chest "what's your rush?" he whispered into her ear.

"Y-you’re going to make your father and Elizabeth wait at the dining table" Renee blushed and tried breaking free from his grip.

"Haha, I wouldn't mind making the whole world wait," Caesar chuckled and whispered slyly into her ear.

Renee's mind went blank for a second "shut up, you idiot" she said quietly and broke free from his clutches, although she called him an idiot, the smile on her face didn't betray her feelings.

Caesar got of bed and dressed in a simple black and white striped suit, he put on a pair of white gloves and black dress shoes. Renee dressed in a long violet dress that had a slit down the side that crawled up to her thigh.

"Are you trying to tempt me?" Caesar teased while looking at her sexy legs.

Renee rolled her eyes and walked out of the room first. Caesar smiled and followed behind her. Renee walked in front of Caesar down the hallways, and purposely shook her hips provocatively.

She glanced at Caesar's groin area, and once she saw a reaction, she smiled confidently and continued shaking her hips all the way to the dining room.

"Is this her way of getting revenge for all of my teasing?" Caesar thought inwardly while keeping his eyes peeled on her back.

They soon reached the dining room doors and walked inside, once Renee entered the room, all of the butlers present couldn't take their eyes off of her.

Joe glanced at Renee, but once he saw what was behind her, he quickly averted his gaze and went back to eating.

The butlers felt as if the room went to freezing temperatures as they were glared at by Caesar, they gulped audibly and shifted their gaze off of Renee.

"Ahem, come, sit" Crowley cleared his throat and said with a worn-out tone.

Both Caesar and Renee sat down, and they all started eating, breakfast consisted of yogurts, fruits, salads, and toast.

Sebastian walked behind Caesar and whispered in his ear, "young master, Veronica has arrived at the palace and is waiting for your arrival."

Renee's ears perked up, and she glared at Caesar with suspicion, she stabbed a small fruit with unnecessary force, causing Caesar to raise his eyes and look at her.

"Who’s Veronica?" Renee asked, her voice containing a cold killing intent.

"Haha, just a business partner," Caesar chuckled and continued eating his breakfast.

Renee squinted her eyes and smiled lightly "Than you wouldn't mind if I tagged along, would you?" she asked slyly.

Caesar stroked his chin in contemplation. "I can definitely see a problem arising," Caesar replied after thinking for a second.

"What do you mean?" Renee blinked her eyes cutely and looked at Caesar with curiosity.

"Hmm, I think I'm going to pass on your offer…" Caesar said after he finished eating his breakfast.

Caesar stood up and straightened his collar, he walked out of the dining room and turned around to glance at Renee, "I will see you in a bit," he called out.

The door closed, and everyone in the dining room didn't dare make a sound, Renee stared at Crowley with a curiosity "who is he meeting with?"

Crowley scratched his head with a bashful smile "I'm not certain, but I'm sure Sebastian knows." Crowley quickly passed all of the responsibilities to Sebastian and left the dining room.

Renee shifted her attention towards Sebastian and tilted her head curiously.

"Hmm, he's meeting with a merchants guild representative… He is business partners with them," Sebastian bowed and calmly explained.

Renee nodded her head in understanding, "I see, but why did he not want me to tag along with him?" she muttered to herself.

  ***

Caesar quickly walked through the hallways and made it into the main palace hall… Veronica was already standing there waiting for him. She was wearing a long black skirt and a white button-up shirt.

Once Veronica caught sight of Caesar, she smiled and put her hand forward, "nice to see you again."

Caesar shook her hand and replied, "likewise."

"I'm going to get straight to the point. We have already contacted the rebels. They are willing to purchase our weapons and spread the word about our business as long as they win the war," Veronica said with a grim expression.

Caesar nodded his head, "excellent. I will order some of the workers to disassemble the ballistae and get them ready for transportation" Caesar replied.

"Okay, I will give them word that we are going to start transporting… have you already decided how we are going to camouflage the business?"

Caesar shook his head, "not yet. It shouldn't be much of a problem until we make a large number of funds."

Veronica nodded her head in acceptance and brought out a piece of paper from her bosom. She handed it towards Caesar.

Caesar grabbed the piece of paper and scanned through it, "this is acceptable," he commented and grabbed a quill pen from his suit pocket.

He elegantly signed his name on the paper and handed it back to Veronica.

"Thank you," Veronica said sweetly and walked away.

Caesar didn't stay either and immediately started walking back towards the dining room. "I am afraid my fox is going to show her claws. That is, if I don't get back soon," he chuckled loudly.

  CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Caesar opened the dining room doors and scanned the room. The butlers were busy picking up the used plates and wiping off the table.

"Where did Renee go?" Caesar asked one of the nearest butlers.

"She did not tell us where she was going," The butler bowed and replied respectfully.

Caesar nodded his head and exited the dining room. He walked through the palace hallways and walked towards his room.

He soon arrived in front of his door and twisted the knob.

He stepped inside and examined the room. He didn't spot Renee, so he shook his head with a wry smile and sat down at his desk.

Caesar tapped his desk while observing the map that was still unfolded on top of his desk.

"I need to prepare a large number of food supplies and clothes for the journey… I wonder if one of them knows how to cook?" Caesar muttered out loud while looking at the map.

He grabbed a quill pen and started drawing a path. He circled all of the pit-stops they would need to make in red. Once he was finished, he folded the map and tucked it inside his suit pocket.

Caesar stood up from his chair and exited his room once again. He walked down the hallways until he caught sight of a random butler.

  "Where is Sebastian currently a
t?" Caesar asked the butler curiously.

"I think he is in the servants quarters teaching the new maids," The butler replied after contemplating for a moment.

"Thank you…" Caesar thanked the butler and walked past him. He walked towards the servant's quarters and observed his surroundings. The servant's quarters were not nearly as grand as his residence. However, compared to an average person, it was still quite luxurious. The walls were painted with a pleasant olive green, and the floor was decorated with a vermillion red carpet.
