  CHAPTER ONE

Caesar and the knights soon returned to the castle gates, the elves naturally following behind them. The knights and archers stationed at the castle gates were a bit bewildered at the sight of the following elves. They had an idea as to what happened, but after all, there was no way they could hear Caesar's and the elf representative's voice from beyond the castle walls.

The battle had been going on for some time, so Caesar and the rest were all quite exhausted. Caesar led the troops through the passage slowly. Right as they moved through the gates, Caesar and the rest of the knights could hear loud applause.

After feeling the appreciation from the civilians, smiles blossomed on the faces of the knights. Soon, a crowd of people pushed through some of the applauding crowd.

  "Darling, you're okay!"

"Daddy, I thought I wouldn't get to see you again."

Tears of happiness streamed down the faces of the many family members belonging to the returning knights. Seeing this, Caesar smirked and began to take his armor off.

"Son! I'm glad you're okay." A voice, clearly holding back tears, entered Caesar's ears.

Caesar looked up to see his dad, Sebastian, and Elizabeth. They all had happy smiles on their faces, welcoming him. Caesar smiled widely and crouched down, opening his arms. Elizabeth came running and jumped in them. Even though he had resolved himself not to grow too attached to the lass, yet he was astounded by her unveiled cuteness.

"I haven't seen you for so long, daddy!" she giggled and said sweetly.

Caesar picked her up and twirled her around. She giggled happily while Caesar silently contemplated… "I guess I am not alone, after all," he thought silently while looking at Elizabeth's blissful face.

Caesar twirled her around for a bit longer before gently setting her down. He then walked towards the front of the awkward elves and turned to face the civilians of Rahvin kingdom.

"Although all of you have your differences, the elves have agreed to join our kingdom. Not as allies, but to be treated as our own. We will treat each other as a family, even if we were enemies prior. No one wishes for more blood to be shed, nor can either side withstand another attack!" Caesar thundered, letting everyone hear it. The elves behind him nodded appreciatively, and the kind civilians all laughed and cheered.

"Welcome to Rahvin kingdom!" they all shouted with joyful smiles.

The elves behind Caesar all possessed awkward smiles on their faces as they waved back. Seeing this scene, Caesar walked away. The elves and citizens of Rahvin kingdom began to mingle right after Caesar left.

"Oh my, your skin is so beautiful," A human woman said to an elf.

"Hehe, don't flatter me." the elf girl replied shyly.

"Wow! Your quite muscular," an elf man said to a nearby blacksmith.

"Haha, I'm not as handsome as you, though!" the human male replied,

The elves and humans were getting along decently well. Though, there were obviously still some elves and humans that were reluctant to talk to each other due to past grudges. A firm relationship could not be built upon a shaky foundation overnight. It would take many years for some of the elves and humans to formulate a necessary trust for each other.

As Caesar was walking back to his manor, he caught sight of Renee. Right as Caesar made eye contact with her, she turned away in annoyance. Caesar tilted his head in confusion as he walked over.

Renee just stood there with her arms crossed. Caesar smirked as he walked behind her and whispered into her ear, "What's wrong?"

Contrary to his expectations, she didn't blush this time, but instead, looked at him angrily, "I didn't know you had a daughter, who is the mother?"

Caesar first looked at Renee with surprise and then flung his head back and roared with laughter, "That is what you were worried about?" Caesar asked, chuckling while wiping a stray tear from his eye.

"W-what? I-It's not as though I'm jealous, but to do those a-acts with me even though you already have another woman is disrespectful to her and me… Why are you laughing!?!" Renee shouted out excuses and became louder and louder with each word.

Caesar held back his laughter and looked at her with a sly smile, "you don't need to worry; she is not my biological daughter, meaning that I don't have another woman." He explained with a gentle voice, finding her jealously cute.

Renee's face became relieved at Caesar's words, but after looking at Caesar's sly smile, she soon became embarrassed, and her face flushed red.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know… I thought you were just playing with me all those times," Renee mumbled with tears in her eyes, and her ears furrowed.

Caesar patted her head and chuckled, "don't worry too much about it, I'm sure any lass would be curious as to why I have a girl calling me daddy when I'm so young" Caesar comforted.

A smile soon blossomed on Renee's face… "thank you," she said, appreciatively.

"Young master, madam, I am going to prepare a feast at the manor, shall we all go together?" Sebastian soon interrupted both Caesar and Renee.

Caesar nodded and said, "Yeah, let's all go together!"

Caesar, Renee, Sebastian, Crowley, Elizabeth, and the rest all walked back to their manor. Along the way, Elizabeth would continue to pester Caesar about his battles. The rest would laugh at her innocent questions.

As they gradually made their way through the broad streets, Caesar and the rest noticed a massive crowd of people. Curious, they all walked over. In the middle of the circle, surrounded by people, a lecherous smile could be seen on the crowned prince's face.

"Heh, I've never tasted an elf before, how about you join me tonig
ht?" the prince said with a lustful grin.

"I-I don't want to," the elf girl said, fearfully.

"You don't seem to be resisting much, though?" The prince laughed wildly as he started to attempt to drag the girl to his carriage.

"That's because we promised that general loyalty, and you said you were a higher rank than him…" The elf girl said with tears in her eyes.

Disgustingly enough, the elf girl appeared to be at the tender age of around ten or eleven. Worse, since elves didn't age much after they turned eighteen, they matured at a much slower rate in the teenager phase. At most, in human years, the elven lass was around seven or eight years old.

This fact caused all of the nearby humans to close their eyes in shame and anger. Even if they possessed many grudges with the elves, it was clear that they were desperate as well. Why else would they have sent such a young child to the battlefield? Yet, even after an alliance had been established, their very own crowned prince disgraced them to such a degree. The slowest of idiots would be able to tell that an alliance with the elves after this event would be tantamount to ascending the heavens.

Knowing this, Caesar unhesitatingly stepped forward. "It seems as though my knights went to softly on you during your training," he said in a cold tone, making everyone present shiver.

"You? What are you doing here?" The prince let go of the elf girl and fell down while yelling in fear.

A few plans concocted within Caesar's head as he leisurely approached the groveling prince. One, the crowned prince, was a huge roadblock to any whimsical chances of Rahvin thriving. Two, the elves would never fully cooperate with the humans, and a future rebellion would be likely if he were kept alive. Three, the current king was an absolute pathetic ruler, resulting in the kingdom devolving into its current state. It was with pure sheer luck that Caesar managed to barely achieve victory, whereas he didn't even want to think of the consequences of failure.

Something needed to change for Caesar and the rest to live. Currently, the other nations were circling from up above like vultures. With the backing of the many elves and the absolute loyalty from the soldiers, there was only one person who could make that change. Although it was risky, he only had one shot.

With this in mind, Caesar sauntered to where the prince kowtowed onto the ground. "Let this be a lesson to all of those present. Be you a prince, or even a king, if you mistreat the elves or anyone in this kingdom, for that matter. This will be the consequence!"

Caesar stomped down on the crown prince's face.

  Once… twice… thrice.

The prince's skull cracked after the first stomp. His brain matter flew everywhere after the second stomp. The ground quaked after the third stomp, and not even a scream could be muttered from Alfred's mouth after the fourth stomp.

The crowd sucked in a cold breath, and Sebastian covered Elizabeth's eyes. Caesar finally stopped stomping and pointed to a nearby guard. "Clean up this mess!" He ordered.

The guard nodded respectfully and began to clean up the bloody mess. Caesar then walked back to his family with a smile, "shall we continue to home?" He asked as if nothing had even transpired

The elf girl looked at Caesar's retreating back with awe. "Now that is a man!" she thought to herself before quickly shaking her head.

Crowley looked as though he had just swallowed a fly. His face was ashen, and his fists were tightly clenched at the side. He understood the consequences of such an action. Fear crept up his spine as he gazed at Caesar disapprovingly. He wanted to scold and reprimand him. Hell, he even wanted to go up and slap him himself, but he couldn't in front of everyone surrounding them. Crowley couldn't comprehend why his intelligent son had become so rash!

He could only swallow down a mouthful of saliva and forcefully nod his head in consent.

Caesar nodded, and they all made their way back to the manor. Caesar opened the door and sat at the dining table first; the rest followed shortly after. His father sat on the opposite end of the table, while Renee and Elizabeth sat on his right and left respectively.

They all sat at the table, silently waiting for Sebastian to make the food and set the food. After about thirty minutes of waiting, Sebastian finally returned with a large platter full of fancy delicacies and other fatty foods. He brought the plates one by one to the dinner table.

Sebastian prepared pasta with fresh loaves of bread. The food smelled delicious, and a smile appeared on everyone's face, just smelling the food.

After the plates were on the table, they all began to eat. Both Renee and Elizabeth gulped down their food as if they were about to starve to death. As for Crowley and Caesar, they ate with perfect posture, unwilling to eat like a barbarian.

As they were eating, Crowley looked up, gesturing toward Renee, "son, you must introduce me to this fine lady."

Caesar placed his fork on the table and gestured to Renee. "Father, this is Renee. And Renee, this is my father, Crowley." He said curtly.

Caesar introduced them to each other, picked up his fork, and continued to eat. Renee bowed her head down and shyly said, "nice to meet you, Crowley!"

"Hahaha, no need to be courteous to me," Crowley laughed loudly.

Renee put her head down even further in shame. Crowley, seeing that the girl was embarrassed, ceased laughing, and changed the topic.

"it's quite rare to see beast-kin in this continent… what brings you here?"

Renee lifted her head and scratched her hair "ah, that, uhm… I am here on a mission." She replied. She didn't want to tell Crowley the real reason she was in the kingdom.

Crowley nodded his head and looked at her with a curious look, "If I may ask, what is your mission? Perhaps, I can help you."

Renee stood there with a frozen face, "hmm, I uhm."

Before she could continue, Caesar interrupted her by dropping his fork on the plate. He then proceeded to look towards his father, "apparently, she is here to find a husband. After looking all over the continent, she said I was the perfect one, and her soul mate," Caesar patiently explained to his father.

Crowley nodded his head in comprehension, "ah, as expected of my son."

The rest of the people at the table looked at Crowley with baffled expressions "how could you believe that so easily?" they all thought to themselves.

"That's not true…." she said quietly, similar to a mosquito.

Crowley looked at her, confused. "What did you say? I didn't hear you?"

"N-nothing…" she said while glaring at Caesar.

They quickly finished dinner in this harmonious atmosphere. Sebastian soon came to the dining table and gathered the dirty dishes. Caesar then stood up from his chair first and declared his partings. "I will be going to bed first, I'm exhausted," he said as he made way to his room.

The rest of the people at the dinner table nodded their heads.

Caesar walked up the stairs and entered into his room. He collapsed on his bed shortly after and closed his eyes while contemplating. The royal guards would be there anytime soon, he speculated.

  CHAPTER TWO

In the middle of the night, Caesar was abruptly awoken from the banging on the door. Sebastian's worried voice soon sounded out from behind the room.

"Young master, officials are here to take you to the king for interrogation!"

Caesar shot out of bed and put on a suit. He smiled widely, as if he knew this would happen, and walked out of the door.

Sebastian bowed respectfully and led Caesar towards the main hall. Inside the room were three or so well-dressed ministers and five armored knights holding handcuffs.

Caesar wasn't surprised and walked towards them. Right as the ministers caught sight of Caesar, they yelled loudly, "the king has decreed to detain Mephisto Pheles on acts of treason, and must be brought to the palace for further questioning."

Crowley looked at the ministers and wasn't very stunned. He looked at Caesar and said towards him, "you better have something good planned, my son. I didn't say anything earlier because
we were around the little girls."

Caesar nodded his head and willingly put his hands in the handcuffs. The knights looked awkward and apologetic as they escorted Caesar to the already prepared carriage.

Caesar stepped in the carriage with a calm look, and the knights entered in afterward. The carriage traveled in complete silence,

and after about fifteen minutes, the carriage finally arrived in front of the palace. The beautifully decorated mansion entered into Caesar's eyes as he stepped out of the carriage.

The Knights then escorted him up the long stairs and through the enormous wooden doors.

The footsteps reverberated throughout the palace halls. Soon, they arrived in front of the throne room. The knights looked at each other with confused glances before finally opening the door and walking in with Caesar.
